Write while invisible

I was sitting here thinking and I've thought about it different times. I sometimes login simply because there is one person I would like to speak to, but I would like to log in invisibly. I was think for premium users the we could implement a feature that would allow for a command and it would work kind of like windows messenger you could Wright to someone while invisible, but the one you sent the quick note would know who you were and have the option of replying to you. I was thinking perhaps we could have either a command for it or you could Wright to people and the person would see you. I was thinking maybe /wu then the username or id then whatever you wished to say. Anyway, that is all I was wondering if anyone else thought this would be a nice feature.

I thought the invisible feature is just for that. Being invisible.

Yes, but even invisible things can still interact with people if they so choose, while still staying invisible to the rest, Gosts for example.

I like this idea.

You can send PM's back and forth if you are invisible but not QN's. And personally, I prefer not to have conversations with invisible people and for people not to try to have conversations with me when I'm invisible.

think it's a bit of a coding nightmare. So you write someone and then you get added to their list of users to send a Quicknote to. But for how long. What if you want to then become invisible to them? Etc. Etc. I'd use PM's in this instance.

I was thinking something like that too. you would still be invisible to them, and they can only send pqn's to you if you send it first. so they can only reply. if that makes sense.

I still don't see a need for this. If you only want to talk to specific people, just turn public quicknotes off. And if you really want to not talk to certain people, just put them on ignore.

Post 8 by Svenja (don't need any!) on Monday, 23-Jun-2008 8:52:30

that makes no sense to me, as the others already said write pms

Post 9 by purple penguin (Don't you hate it when someone answers their own questions? I do.) on Monday, 23-Jun-2008 13:19:44

Yeah agree. just stick with the system we already have. I think it's working fine.

No, no and no. For one thing there's a bit too much dilution of features going on already, and for another I think you need to decide whether you want to be invisible (and have no interaction with other members) or visible and interacting. As has been said, turn publics off, pq those you want to talk with and ignore pq from those you don't.

well, the arguments are very valid. I was meaning though like when you login invisibly and don't want to ignore others, but you want to wright to someone you happen to see that you want to speak to everyone else would not see you, but the person you sent the private quicknote could reply. I've logged in to check on some things, but don't exactly want everyone knowing I'm logged into the sight. As stated above you wouldn't need a command to stop the person from wrighting you as the person could only wright to you if you private quick noted them first. Also, it probably wouldn't take too much coding as you could simply fix the quicknote field where the person that is invisible could wright to someone just the same as if they were visible, but fix it to where they would not have the option for all users. Private messages usually aren't noticed right away, and may be gotten days or weeks later. I've had them and didn't notice I had them for quite sometime.

I think this would be a useful feature.

Post 13 by blbobby (Ooo you're gona like this!) on Sunday, 29-Jun-2008 17:31:16

As others have said, use pm.
manic, if you are logged on, you get a sound when you receive a private message, and if you aren't, ... uh ... check 'em.

I hardly ever get the sound when I get a pm.

Post 15 by rat (star trek rules!) on Monday, 30-Jun-2008 21:34:05

also, if you have sounds disabled, you won't get the sound for a new pm. hard to know you have a new pm if the sound doesn't play

what's so hard about goign to the heading and arrowing around...it tells you plain as day if you have a new private mesage. Pure laziness if you can't do that. If all else fails, ahve the zone send u an email whenever you get a pm. There ya have it.

Post 17 by The Fox (whatever rank you want to give me!) on Friday, 25-Jul-2008 4:21:22

I would have to say I agree with Jay, Bob, Scott and some others on this. All you have to do in your case is hit "H" with jaws for the headings or if you are sighted then just look at the headings and links. If you are not able to see if you have a PM on the system, Oh yes, the link is just on top of the quick note heading and you even get it as a quick note when you login if you have a new PM so if you can't read that then perhaps you shouldn't be reading/using the site in the first place. Oh wate, we are talking about the same user that spends endless time by himself on Zone by Phone in conf even when others are on the system talking in other rooms. I see someone with way to much time on his hands and nothing to do. I see as well as someone that is Lazy. Perhaps said user should get a life and stop being a waist of space, bandwidth, air, and a waist of a creation like a body.

Cory, I had you on ignore, but my curiosity got the better of me. Congratulations the comments coming from someone who didn't even make it to high school, and uses jaws because they can't read. Congratulations on your ability to use the copy and paste feature so you can copy a post, paste it into Microsoft word, spell check it, and re copy it and past it as a new post. So, how long did you stay awake learning how to do that one? You are so stupid! You stupid fat waste of human sperm and food that could go to someone who actually needs it. You are like any other typical fat American who over eats! ! Oh yeah next time you threaten to commit suicide do better at it, cause You don't appreciate it when someone actually tries to help you, but hey we're talking about someone whom there's no help for. Fuck off, and fist your self!
